Client Swears he saw someone at Sage Support adjust a previous journal entry (with a similar pop-up to Invoice Adjustment), rather than reversing an entry and re-posting... am I missing something?

Are they a VIP client? Or just upgrade - like the other day - to 2015? In 2015 PU1, you can reverse JE's.

@BarbaraGoldstein Nope Just 2014, they had a power outage in the middle of an update a few weeks back and called Sage to help sort out the details. They helped post the missing journal entries (one-sided, etc.) that is when he thinks he saw it.

Possibly @WayneSchulz. I told him I had never seen that function and suggested sticking to the tried and true reversal. I also mentioned he has Gold Support, so can certainly call back in and ask them how they did it. Hopefully he reports back if they have some magic trick I don't know about, but I have a feeling it was just a misunderstanding.

Could they referring to the fact that you can bring up a journal entry from history in General Journal Entry, adjust that entry, and post it?

Do you mean using the Copy function, or the Standard Journal @RonGouveia? I am not able to bring up historical entries in General Journal...

When you go into General Journal Entry and start a journal entry, you can click on the Copy From button and in the dialogue box that comes up you can choose journal history and choose a previously posted journal entry.

Ahh I see... but that doesn't adjust the previously posted entry, rather creates a secondary entry... but possibly what he was confused about. I will show him that and see if maybe that was it. Thanks @RonGouveia !

Dsd has a program that does this. It is GL detail editor. This program allow the user to edit any posted journal.

It sounds like the Copy From function that @RonGouveia referred to.

Remember Client Writeup? Good old days...

I loved Client Write-up. I did company financials at a CPA firm and my boss must have believed I never made AJEs backwards that required adjustments.

I think the end of Client Writeup took the shine off of Mas90/200 for many CPA's, for that very reason.

Sage never understood what a gold mine they had with CPAs, if they just continued to cater to them.

Sage didn't... SOTA did and worked hard to create and maintain that channel
