Client said they saw a product at Sage Summit that makes it easy to export standard reports to Excel. Apparently you can choose fields to export and the format in Excel is perfect. Has anyone seen a product like this?

Sounds like they're talking about custom lookups to me.

    What is BIE?

Business Insights Explorer. Great idea, that Sage never took beyond v1.0

@MaryJoKrueger Pretty sure it is related to the standard reports. When they preview and export standard reports to Excel many times it is a formatting mess. They waste hundreds of hours re-formatting exported standard reports so they can slice and dice the data.

It could be that. They use BIE for a number of screen displays particularly by the warehouse managers to look at open orders. Pretty sure they know about that. They are pretty sophisticated and this client remembers seeing a couple of add-ons at Sage Summit.

Perhaps SI? They recently released the SI Report Utility that contains some standard report exports.

That might be it. It seems like a good solution. Thanks @MarkKotyla

Darn it. I thought we had something. This is 2015 Premium. The Sage Intelligence Report Utility web site indicates these reports are for Standard and Advanced. So they bought ""Premium"" but the extra reports are not available. I noticed it after I sent them the link a few minutes ago. Had to tell them to abort. This is going to go over big. Holy smokes.

    Sell them a downgrade

Since it is SQL server, you could create views in SQL and then do an excel query to extract the data into a table in Excel and then slice and dice it from there. That is of course if they have some technical knowledge of excel

How do you like your Premium now?

What a terrific marketing concept! Let's upset the high end customer willing to pay the most for the product. It really is quite astonishing. A logical person would develop the SI Report Utility for the Premium version first. Better yet, make it available for all versions before you roll it out.

A short term strategy based solely on number of installed Library Masters.
