Client running SAGE 100 ERP v4.40 PU6. Reports last week he worked with his outside IT service firm and recovered from a hit from ransom ware (Crypto - something). The IT folks restored the SAGE 100 from backup and everything seem to be working ok. Except now the tab key and the enter key are not behaving properly. The tab key does NOT take you to the next data entry field like before. Even when you launch SAGE 100 ERP and try to log in, you have to use your mouse to navigate from the ""User Login"" box to the ""Password"" box. Data entry folk are using the mouse to navigate from field to field and hate it!
I looked up the issue in the knowledgebase and found entry ID:39985 that identified this behavior as a result of the ""Crypto"" virus. The only resolution was to restore the entire MAS90 directory from backup. Which is what the client did. Client called SAGE Support and was emailed a knowledgebase article ID:39985 (same number) but this article had a second resolution to take the original 4.40 media and run a system repair.
Question 1: Why does SAGE Support have knowledgebase articles that contain more information then the same article in the Partner Portal SAGE Knowledgebase?
Question 2: Is it reasonable that a reinstall from the 4.40 CD will fix the tab and enter key issues?
