Client running SAGE 100 ERP Standard v4.4 PU#6. Tried to perform Year End Processing in General Ledger and kicked out an Error 106 Keyed File error (Bad key block hdr) Program = GL_PeriodEndProcessing_UI.pvc. Then another person tried to post some General Ledger Entries and received same Error 106 but Program = GL_DetailPosting_upd.pvc Looked in SAGE Knowledgebase and the old Knowledgebase and did not find any reference to ""Bad key block hdr"" , Postings from Payroll and Accounts Payable seem to make it into General Ledger. Any ideas??

Did you rebuild your key files?

Have not tried that yet. The GL_DetailPosting.M4T file has 1,189,142 records so with that many I will need to go on-site and perform the rebuild on the file server. Will the rebuild take care of the Error 106 Keyed File Error (Bad Key Block Hdr) ??

I am not the expert.... You can always copy to the test company and try it there.

Any time I have seen an Error 105 or Error 106 I have gone to the Rebuild Keys utility.

Thanks @JeffSchwenk and @CullenLowe I will try the standard key file rebuild first. If that does not work, is the ""UFAR"" utility still around in version 4.40?

Yes, I have used UFAR in every version of MAS from 3.71 on. I just tried in my new install of 2014 and it is still there :-) !

UPDATE - went on site and performed a Key File Rebuild on the GL_DetailPosting.M4T file and all is well. Running the Rebuild at the file server sure made things move along much faster then running from a workstation (The Rebuild crashed running from a workstation) .
