Client printing dispatch multi-part form on legal

Client printing dispatch multi-part form on legal pinfed. Upgrade to 2013 and even using Courier font, it is switching the order of letters in a field or leaving out spaces between fields or other wise not printing correctly. Nothing I can change on the form - it's OK. Is there some option in Crystal that would help with this? Or has someone used a fixed width font that helped out in such a case?

Shifting through the cobwebs to remember this one :). What is the brand and model of the printer and what op system is the user on? You could try Lucida Console, which I believe is a fixed width font.

2012 server, Oki printer, can't tell you at the moment which one it is. One of the wide carriage....

FWIW, even 2014 still has the Device Configurator :)

@JohnBroadfoot - got all excited about that, but setting up a DC printer didn't allow it to show up as an option when printing Sales Orders.

Sorry, should have kept my mouth shut.. :( Probably only shows in legacy modules. Is there a chance this printer is hooked up via a serial cable and flow control is not set? I assume the crystal format is based on the dot-matrix template.

This Crystal format has been used since 3.71, so it's not really based on any template.

In the past, I was able to solve various dot matrix problems by using the HP4 or HP4+ printer driver instead of actual printer's driver.

Really? An HP driver would work for an Okidata pinfed printer driver????????

We've tried the Epson LQ-2550 windows driver with the Okidata in Epson emulation and the IBM Proprinter driver with the Okidata in the IBM emulation.

OKI's have three different printer emulators - Oki, Epson and IBM. Which one is the printer set for? Chances are it is a mismatch between what the printer is set for and what driver is installed. The manual will guide you on how to print the emulation in use. You can change it to match what driver is installed on the workstation or change the driver. For some reason, IT departments NEVER get that!!! Then they blame Sage for printing screwy.

IT in this case is as helpful as can be (Yay). He is going to try a couple of other driver options on Tuesday and see if we can kick this thing in the behind. He had already tried the Generic driver, which I had high hopes for, and it was using the same driver as on the old server, but of course that doesn't mean the same VERSION of the same driver.

I am wrestling with a similar issue. IT went through and upgraded from XP to WN 7 PRO 64 OS and they were wondering why the OKI's were no longer working... Sigh.
