Client on v4.5.4 having issues in AP check printing. There error 12 displays immediately when accessing manual check entry and the ap check detail appears when accessing Check and electronic payment maintenance. We've rebooted the server so the AP check detail error makes no sense. For the manual check entry, I reinitialized the manual check tables.

I just had this happen to a client on 4.05 - it was related to users in PO inquiry. Once they exited, they were okay. Not sure if it applies to 4.5..

Well that would certainly make sense as PO hogs the AP files due to the deposit/check fields.

Unfortunately, the Sage gods are not smiling upon me. Everyone out of system, still get the ap check detail error. When I click on the check register, I get an additional message. Client has finally agreed to purchase a new server which should have been replaced long before now.......

Can you duplicate after copying to a test company?

Nope, about three or four months ago. She printed one manual check today. Which I blew away when I reinitialized the manual check files. Unfortunately, they are dead in the water with checks as they print the MICR information. She doesn't think she need any more printed today. If she can wait till Thursday, I'll have her call the 911 hotline.....

Did they lose the MICR info in bank code maintenance?

I am assuming the MICR is still there. Just can't get past these error message that appear immediately

Have you rebuilt the AP check files - header, detail, and all the other posting files? Do you get errors when trying to access them in the utilities?

Did you reboot the server? I have had similar issue with a file that got tied up somehow. Only a reboot would clear it.

Can you acccess the check detail data files thru DFDM? Anything strange in there? Or do you get a record in use?

I was thinking the same thing as Annette, have you rebooted the server?

@JeffSchwenk do you think it could be similar as to what @MyronStevenson had the other day for his EES issue?https://90minds-com.socialcast.com/messages/13458574?ref=stream

Actually, the symptoms match exactly!!!!!! Will look at it tonight. Their server has been extremely flaky lately so this type of corruption is not unimaginable. Thank You!!!

Groan, while the symptoms matched, the outcomes did not. Trying some of the other suggestions. I am thinking this may be a great test for the new 911 First Responders unit. Who is on call for Thursday? Will try the other suggestions before I bail on vacation.

And the Co-Winners of the Save the Day award are @DianaLaughner and @ThereseLogeais for suggesting that the AP_checkdetail file may be in play and for suggesting that I try to open it in DFDM. Couldn't open it, Tried to rebuild it via reinit files, the AP_Checkdetail file didn't appear. Check my system for visibility (it was there). I was able to DFDM the file in the client's tst company folder which I then copied to their operational company folder. Thanks to all for your suggestions!
