Client on Standard v5.10.3 when creating a manual check, we select bank code B which is pointing to GL account 2300-00, however when posting it posts to the GL account associated with Bank Code A 1010-00. I feel like the answer is staring me in the face. Why is this not posting to the correct GL Account?

Remove the cash account from AP Division Maintenance and it will post based on bank code letter

I haven't figured out why that field in Division Maintenance is there. Why would anyone choose to override the setting in Bank Code Maintenance? Can anyone explain the logic?

AP Division Cash Account - Help Enter the general ledger cash account number to use instead of the bank code's cash account number entered in Bank Code Maintenance, or click the Lookup button to list all general ledger accounts.** Leave this field blank to use the bank code's cash account. **This account is used during the Check and Electronic Payment Register update and Manual Check and Payment Register update processes. **Note If a cash account is defined in this field, the cash account defined for the bank code in Bank Code Maintenance is ignored** during the Check and Electronic Payment Register and Manual Check and Payment Register update processes.

Thanks @LeeGraham , I get what it does, I just don't get the business reason for it.
