Client just went live on v2013. Having issues with TS and retaining settings. When the users customize ALEs the settings do not seem to be retained. If they end their TS session and start a new one... their customized lookups are not retained. Also- all of their printing is multi-part and because some of the printers are redirected the names are not the same and the users have to change the printers every time even though it is the same printer..... anyone have any thoughts on how to correct either of these issues???

Regarding the multi-part form they can only use the same form if you load the printer driver on the server so it doesn't autocreate. If they're using autocreated printers they each have their own autocreation number and you have to setup a separate form for each of them. I haven't run into the ALE problem so not sure what to say except that it might be a rights issue regarding being able to registry but not sure about that.

Have you tried rebuilding the customizer log and updating to current levels?

In regards to Duplex printing on forms, I have found that this setting is saved in the SY_ReportSetting file. Find the form in SY_ReportSetting, remove the printer saved in Field 9. Edit field 24 for Duplex Printing to the number 1 for single side printing. For TS sessions, we have had to not use redirected printers do to many issues including Sage PDF converter not working. Using gpedit.msc there is a way to only redirect the users default printer in windows.

Similar experiences as Steve. We do not allow any redirected printers other than workstation connected printers that are not shared. For all printers reached via the network, we put a queue on the terminal server. Thanks @SteveEngmann for the tip regarding the Group Policy editor. This should make certain configurations easier. I will see if we have someone here that can teach me how to use it.
