    Client just called. We upgraded to 2018 PU2. The client has Time Card and Payroll. He is saying that Sage is running fine but loading a persons time from timecard is taking 15 minutes because the system is loading all time to calculate. They keep time back to 1998 in time card. Anyone running into this yet?

    20 years. And I thought my recommendation to keep 15 years of time was quite adequate. Doubt if Sage even imagined this scenario. You could backup the TC files, purge them and try a test PR to determine what effect it had. Then call Sage only to have them tell you that you shouldn't keep that much history.

    In the old version you could purge the older time card data older to history where it was still visible via inquiry but not in the active time card data. Not sure if that is an option in the new version.

    Guess Sage didn't expect users to have historical data.

    Of course I can't find it now, but I swear I read somewhere that you're supposed to make sure all TC records are purged to history before doing the upgrade. I'll look some more for it tomorrow.

    This is from the Sage 100 Payroll 2.18.1 Installation and Upgrade Guide: Important: Before migrating data from your prior version of Sage 100, make sure that all TimeCard entries have been processed for Payroll and Job Cost. Then verify that all entries have been transferred to history by running Purge/Transfer to History from the TimeCard Period End menu.

    There appears to be no utility once you upgrade. We are going to solve a manual move to history and learn from overlooking instructions.
