Client is using MAS 90 version 4.05. They allowed the ARO file to get above 2gb. Is there a utility to purge records in this file? I tried a few of the purges that are included in that version along with rebuilding the key file with compacting.

I think it's in period end, the Invoice History/Tracking?

Thanks, Beth, but that option does not appear. There is an option to Clear Invoice/Shipping History File, but that did not reduce the file size of ARO, even after optimizing the file.

Hm. I have to do this for a 3.71 client each year, and I can get the file size to compact.

Newer Sage versions have Purge Accounts Receivable History on AR Utilities menu.

It is on the period end processing menu. Once you deleted records you can add more in. Or you can use the resize Data files option in utilities or rebuild key files

Here is the AR Period End screen. I thought Option 5 would do the trick after doing a Key File rebuild. I will try that again, but it did not work yesterday.

Do more clearing on shipping and invoice history file.

@BillyBalser looks like they haven't closed maybe ever so running a period end process is purging only records prior to 2003. You may need to make a backup company and move the AR period date to 2017 in setup, set your options to retain history for 2,3 or 4 years - then run this option 5.

Thanks for your suggestions, everyone. Of course, I committed the cardinal sin in having the client look and tell me that the file size had changed after the rebuild instead of verifying myself. I logged into the system today. They were looking at the .OLD file instead of the .SOA file. Problem solved.
