Client is not sure what what they clicked on but VI job is gone. What is the easiest way to restore a VI job? This is Sage 100 Standard v4.4. TIA

It may be stuck on ""running"". Are they in Job Maintenance or Job Select? If Select, go to Job Maintenance and you can turn off the ""running"" flat.

I just checked and there is no one in Sage 100.

Do you see it on the back end? I ran into this once, where it was not visible in the lookup, but the job VIWI... was still in the folder. We were able to export it though, then reimport it. Have you looked at what is available to export?

Not listed for export. I'm wondering if it was deleted?

In the VI folder I see a VIWI08 which is not listed among the jobs.

OK! thanks @JonParkinson and @MichelleNichols . Look like reading this article i'm going to need to restore the VI folder and the \Mas90\Mas_System\VI_* files. Yikes. Let you know how it goes.

There was a problem at 4.5 that bit me hard. It caused the jobs to disappear and they didn't have a backup. You're at 4.4, so this probably doesn't apply, but I'll post it anyway.

@KarenOLane this one just bit me on a 4.5. Client had upgraded themselves several years ago. I was on their system to do a pre-upgrade review, launched Import Job Maintenance and bye bye.

Not that I *like* it , @BarbaraGoldstein , but the exact same thing happened to me! I felt like an idiot, until I figured out that it was Sage's fault. :-)

I think everyone had bit the bullet on disappearing VI PR jobs when upgrading. A sign of experience. Luckily with parallel installs, one can go back to the original VI, delete the validations (usually JC), export, then import.

@KarenOLane, I was thinking of a different issue. Looking at this KB, though, it appears this was a 4.40 issue and maybe it was fixed in 4.50 (I can't exactly remember). @RonGouveia, I think the simplest way to restore a VI job is to just restore the MAS90 directory somewhere and open it up and export the job out. No muss, no fussing with VIWIxx files, etc. Of course there may be reasons why you can't do that but I have had almost no success with restoring jobs from the back end like that.

Thanks @CullenLowe for the suggestion. I'm getting together with their IT guy in about 30 minutes so i'll keep that in mind.
