Client is migrating from MAS 90 v4.4 to MAS 200. In the old days, you just installed the MAS 200 library master and system set up on top of MAS 90. Now I am having second thoughts about being able to install on top of v4.4. Has anyone done this lately? What are the steps involved now?

I would do as you said in your earlier post - copy MAS 90 to a new directory as backup then try installing over (if it lets you). I'm thinking you may have to do a parallel install..

Why don't you take them to 4.5 at the same time??

I don't think it's going to let you install over the top of the existing MAS 200. Would love to be proven wrong but I think it warns and exits.

I think 4.4 makes you do a parallel install no matter what. I had a server move recently and it would not let me copy and install over top, it forced me to do a parallel install.

I concur with @PhilMcIntosh. We also recently did a move, and a parallel install was required.

Jeff I just did this two weeks ago and it was a much easier than I thought, but I was also moving servers too. I installed MAS 200 on the new server. Made sure mas 90 4.4 was patched on the old. MAS 90 Rebuilt keys & sorts, cleared all .old & temp files. In MAS 200 used the Migration utility answered Yes to system files and then selected the company codes. In MAS 200 rebuilt keys & sorts again. Ran crystal convert utility for all reports & forms. Updated customizer forms, ran rebuild utility too. Double checked agings & tb against MAS 90. Tested some forms & some of the custom reports. Updated the Paperless office paths. Ran workstation setups. Only issue I had post migration/upgrade was an error in WO Transaction Entries. Had to manual re-initialize the IM cost calc files. @haroldwestover gave me this tip. Says he has done this several times in upgrading. Move/rename the existing MAS 90 folder. Install MAS 200 as you normally would. Copy the MAS 90 folder on top of the MAS 200 folder. Activate the companies under company maintenance (but then cancel). MAS 200 should be ready to go. My concern is the wksetup folder and perhaps the uninstall folder. And of course, the job ops stuff. But it might be worth a try.......... Harold, correct me if I missed something.
