Client is MAS 200 4.30 with a fleet of Windows XP workstations. They want to upgrade to 4.50 as opposed to v2013+ because they are heavy FRx users and would really like to keep it that way. However they also want to replace out their XP machines with Windows 7 64-bit ones since XP will be unsupported by Microsoft very soon According to the Integrated Solutions Compatibility Matrix for 4.50, FRx is not supported on 64-bit o/s. I'm sure that is because it never got officially tested in that environment. I seem to remember in the past some 90 Minders they have clients running it on 64-bit. It requires registering some DLLs in SysWOW64 folder and maybe another tweak?? Can somebody confirm they have clients running FRx successfully on 64-bit? I'm hoping to confidently say to them tomorrow it can be done. @Sage100Routine

Yes frx works fine on win 7 64 bit. I installed it yesterday. You just need the msxml.dll. It is on Wayne blog from a year ago. Jim

Also if they go 2013 on Windows XP don't forget that every workstation must have SP3 and then the 5 pre-requisites ( 2 .NET, 1 Windows Installer, 2 C++). This requires several reboots and can be VERY time consuming to load - especially SP3.

I have several clients running FRx with Sage 2013 so there's no reason for them to go to 4.50.

Alnoor, We have mixed results running FRx on 64-bit. It works some places but not others. So far, We have not been able to find a pattern that can be used to predict. So far on Windows 8 64-bit we have had no luck running FRx.

@DougJenkins - Are you installing the 64 OS DLL that I have posted above?

@JeffSchwenk our install team is aware of the 64-bit fix for FRx. They have successfully used in the past. But for some reason we still can't launch FRx on a new Windows 8 PC. I can 't say this applies to all Windows 8 instances.
