Client is a CPA firm and I believe a member of the Accountants Network. They received a call from Sage indicating their renewal/subscription was expiring and without renewal, their Sage product (and any clients that purchased from them) would become 'read only'. I called Sage and received a copy of the quote for the subscription, but how can they make the software 'read only'? What if customer doesn't have internet on the Sage server? Is this subscription (for 1 year) a new thing? My contact at client didn't recall ever seeing this before. When I called Sage back using the extension they gave me, conveniently the rep was gone for the day (it was only 10 mn later) and another rep answered and it certainly sounded like a call center that normally I would be leery of. Much less they seemed to push that I should get the renewal done and pay with a credit card. Is this legit?
