    Client got a call from NewGen Business Solutions in IL today - how do resellers get a list of Sage customers? I know I get emails trying to sell me lists every now and then - how does that information get out there? The salesperson called it MAS 200, so that's a little scary.... No, it's a lot scary. Anyway, just curious.

    It seems they are stressing being a NetSuite group, so that is their motivation. In reviewing the people on LinkedIn that work for them, I know none of them (which is unusual), meaning they may not be that involved in the Sage arena.

    I get emails almost daily trying to sell me lists of either Sage or NetSuite clients or they contact us through our website. I just opt out of them but it's non stop. I don't know where they get their lists or if the lists are even viable but they are kind of a pain.

    That company calls my customers all the time. They have been doing it for years. I was on site a couple of years ago and the CFO asked them to hold and then passed the call to me. We had a good laugh after I ""explained"" to NG what I thought of their customer aquisition tactics.

    The salesperson's speaking pattern does not make me want contact her on her offers of Crystal Reports help, training, etc. It's practically a parody of a New Yawk accent and certainly does not inspire one to call her back.

    Some VARS are big on telemarketing. They really don't care about the no's and are searching out the people who say yes and turn into some type of lead. I never had good luck with telemarketing mostly because it tends to kick out problems and people with the attitude ""well you called me so come and fix my problem(s) free then we will talk about payment

    There is a well known Sage 100 partner (I wont mention the name because I am not sure if they are in this group) that called and emailed my customers. They were giving away one ""free"" Sage 100 module. All you have to do is complete an ROR form. Pretty slimy.

    Well, which Var's are in ""New Yawk"", wink wink. I distinctly remember multiple end user data breaches some years ago, and even other partners getting my client list. It's not hard over 30 years for someone disgruntled at sage (no shortage of that) to 'Export to Excel' and then email for a few bucks
