Client elected to renew maintenance directly with Sage (no problem with that) but Sage convinced owner to elect 100c (no problem with that either). Accounting Mgr then got an email to download 100c and fortunately asked me if they should. She forwarded the email to me. There are no warnings, no instructions, just press the button to start the download. Are they kidding?

Did ask customer to forward the email to you?

No. She forwarded email along with question about ""should she proceed?"" Scary.

    Yes, scary.

Sage 100c is SO much easier to install!!! Migrations only take me two or three attempts before I am successful. Progress!

Everyone at Sage should have to sit in and watch a significantly complicated real world upgrade (with enhancements and customizations) before they are allowed to communicate with customers.

You mean, like, train the tax credits? What part of transferring wealth from employees and customers to shareholders while providing AMV (absolute minimum value) eludes you?

    Right on @PhilMcIntosh.

Perception of value matters too. 1. Create a problem. 2. Solve it (charging for the service). 3. Hope your customers give you credit for #2 without blaming you for #1.

Sage's approach: Make the car you bought suddenly a lease. (Trade in the sales department for tax credit rookies) Don't test the new licensing software. (training - we don't need no stinkin' training!) Leave it up to the customers and partners to find the problems. Don't test the ""fix"" before releasing it. All wrapped in a Do Until Business Goes Away loop...

Sage: No forced migrations. We'll just annoy you so much you want to switch to another platform.

@PhilMcIntosh I'm sitting at a boring college orientation laughing like crazy at your reply. IMO, you have perfectly assessed the Sage NA strategy.
