  • 1.  Cleaning up the Customer Memo file

A customer recently informed me that they accidentally copied the same memo to virtually all of the customers in their Accounts Receivable Customer Memo file.  Now they would like it if we could fix this without them having to manually delete over 1,000 of these memos. I had thought about using VI to export the memos then use Excel to delete the bad lines.  After the clean-up I would import the data back into a fresh AR_Customer_Memo file.  The problem that I have is the 7K field "MemoText."  Working with "blob" data can be a pain.

Has anyone ever done this maneuver in the past?  Does anyone have a proven solution?

@David Speck II has a technique for using VI to delete data that you might want to try.  (I can't seem to find a link right now).

Why isn't restoring the memo tables from back up feasible?  They do have back up don't they?

This thread has a post I made with instructions on using BOI methods during a VI import job to delete records.

    IM_PriceCode_bus doesnt have a delete Function ?
