CI_Item Total Qty On Hand incorrect

    I have a customer who has a couple of items where their item masterfiles do not have the correct total qty on hand. The valuation and stock status reports agree with each other so it's not a matter of cost detail (they use std valuation). Is there an easy way to recalculate this without running the full Recalculate Item History utility? TIA!

    I don't think so.  If it's only a few, you could just DFD&M them, though I feel icky saying that.

    Sage has acknowledged that field is not always maintained properly.  I would use a Crystal report to output a file with item and total from IM_itemwarehouse and VI the totals in.

    I keep wondering why Sage has a field that probably holds inaccurate information! either fix it or get rid of it.  Kind of like the inventory valuation report by period. For years I had to tell clients "don't run that report it is not going to be accurate" inevitably the client asks - why is it there? I'm still not quite convinced that they have fixed it but...…..

    It is not the recalc utility but the other inventory recalc – does it not do it?

    If you haven't yet done it, the first thing I would try is to rebuild application sort files and recalculate inventory for all integrated modules, not just IM.

    Rebuilding IM sorts only allows you to clear committed quantities. Rebuilding SO and PO sorts only allows you to recalc qties on order. Unless I'm missing something??

    Agreed, but in my experience Sage would have you do this anyway, so you may as well get ahead of the ball.

    OMG, @David Overholt - that is the issue of the month for me (Val Report by Period)!  Just had to go through my second discussion of a client about the Valuation by Period not being correct.  Accidental future postings (to Dec 2019) were the culprit this time.  Just yesterday I emailed out a frustrated "Let's take that f-ing worthless report off the menu when we install from now on".​

    Thanks @Robert Wood. For those who didn't attend or listen to the HL session Robert did earlier, there is now an Urgent Support Group for anything urgent, Sage 100, 300, CRM, etc. Once the issue has been resolved (or become 'stale' according to Robert), it will be moved to the appropriate group, e.g. this is now in Sage 100 and not in Urgent Support. Just an FYI!​
