Chuckle of the day - moments ago from an existing Sage 100 user: xxx asked me to contact you to request a list of UPC scanning programs that are compatible and will integrate with MAS 100, he wants a list of each programs features and a list of scanners that are compatible. He does not want to use a solution that will take down MAS if it needs to be uninstalled like an old yyy add on we once used. He also does not want to be asked what do you want to use this program for. He just told me he wants to take parts out of MAS and put them back into MAS using a UPC scanning solution. I would say this sums up very nicely about 1/3 of the end users who try to manage their own projects and this same 1/3 usually wind up very upset and want their money back because you never ""asked what do you want to use this program for"" Seriously. I couldn't make this up - nobody would believe me.

Why do I get the end users who love to ask ""show me every single option and feature and list of compatible scanners.... Sadly this seems to be the way a decent segment of the lower end Sage 100 user base is going. It's all on-demand and free consulting for which they then will use your free advice and fire you if they themselves mess up.

I took over as ROR for a using on v4.5 and Job Ops. Had a great relationship this summer and was looking forward to many efficiency improvements throughout the company. Work smart, not Hard. That is, until they hired an IT gatekeeper who knows absolutely nothing about Sage, JobOps or any other useful tidbit for creating value. An absolute butthole. I have come very close several times to telling him to go F' himself. I don't need the money that badly...... Yes, SFA about how ""no it all"" IT people can ruin a great relationship.......
