I'm not sure I fully understand what's been tried and if using the including one-click reversal through the regular UI won't work.  I'm going to take a WAG ( and probably 15 people will jump in to tell me why I'm crazy) that Sage hasn't paid much attention to VI reversals of payroll checks since they added the feature in Payroll 2.x.

How to Reverse Payroll Checks or Direct Deposits using one-click process (Payroll 2.x, version 2018 and higher)

Again, I'm sure there's as complication as to why the manual reverse wouldn't work (or maybe you tried it and the "tells me I need to add a line" is my answer) in your situation. It's just not clear if every issue you're having is with VI or if you turned to VI after being unable to reverse out PR checks through the UI.  Just looking for more details/background.

Wayne, basically, I'm trying to import a file that contains Reversed Payroll checks. It's hard to explain why they do it, but every month they get a file from another computer system that contains Voided (Reversed) Payroll checks. I can't seem to get it to import at all, not with the one-click option or with entering negatives (legacy way). The one-click reversal works when entered manually but not via a VI import. Entering negatives does not work at all, not manually or via an import. I hope this makes sense.

I found doing VI imports into AP for check reversals was impossible because the VI data dictionary did not include the field "do you wish to recall the invoices?" Making the import impossible.  Probably an omission of the same sort with PR reversals.  How hard can it be to add the missing fields?
