I have a customer who hired someone to write some PHP code that uploads an export file to their cloud CRM. They're in the midst of moving away from this system however a few recent bugs meant we had to go out to the programmers to update their PHP code.
This might be more of an edge case because PHP is all text based and relatively easy to review.
I found that instead of constantly messaging the programmers to learn more about where files were stored and how certain files were selected for upload that I could copy and paste the PHP code into ChatGPT and in return ask it the same questions I would have emailed the programmer for.
Where ChatGPT needed additional ( PHP ) information I copied that in. Ultimately ChatGPT almost completely documented (explained) how the PHP code runs and allowed me to give the end user ( my customer ) a summary of how the process worked.
I also find that ChatGPT is great for creating and debugging Crystal Reports formulas.
If you haven't already begun using ChatGPT I suggest subscribing. I think it's about $20/mo and well worth it.
