Changing of the guard? Matt Muldoon was the ultimate product manager for the Sage 200 line and oversaw all of North America product management.

That's a shame, he was nice to work with and had good ideas. When he was switched from attending to not attending our MOTM I wondered how long he'd be with Sage.

I had a very good conversation with Matt at Sage Summit in Atlanta (2017). He was definitely on ""our"" side. So, I guess I am not surprised he was one of the 30 executives terminated by Sage for missing their revenue goals. Is Sage leadership stupid or just ruthless? Every action Sage has taken in the past 5 to 7 years has been channel averse. Matt's termination specifically is like me firing my salesperson for not selling when I have not invested anything in marketing. Whatever the answer to the question is, I sure am glad we are no longer exclusive to Sage.

I am disappointed to say I did not share the same experiences. I met with him at Atlanta and walked away feeling he did not understand the product line issues. I don't feel that a product road map made up of bolt-ons and/or opportunities to purchase more in order to make the product achieve roadmap functionality is all that customer friendly. Sage should be interacting with the channel before these roadmaps are put into stone. Stop coming to us only when (a) you need sales to report or (b) the product line is experiencing a problem(s) and suddenly you want our help (too late by then). It should be the product managers job to integrate with marketing, support and development to ensure an attractive roadmap and superior customer experience for the product(s) they manage. I do not feel this has been happening with Sage 100.

@WayneSchulz - I completely agree with your roadmap assessment, and I did not talk to Matt about that. I had a direct conversation with Matt about the channel, leads and the direct sales teams that were not only getting all of the leads to push the cloud products but also calling into our existing customer base attempting to poach them away from us. He was surprised this was happening, but with him being in the UK, I wasn't surprised he was unaware of it. I felt like he genuinely cared about my concerns, but I have no idea if he ever followed up on those concerns internally.
