Changing from regular to unified login. I haven't

Changing from regular to unified login. I haven't had too many customers use unified login. I see it mostly in highly secure environments like banks or medical. One of my users wants to switch from regular login to unified. I'm not certain if there's a good way to do this short of creating new logins. I recall that unified uses the Windows login name as the Sage login however I don't think there's a way to correlate the Windows login to an existing Sage 100 login. Example - my Sage login is WES and my Windows login is wschulz. I think I'd need to create a NEW Sage login wschulz within Sage 100 so that I can flip on unified. Or am I missing an easier way?

Try removing the passwords in S100 user maintenance.

I think you are correct. Create a Sage user with the same name as the Windows user. No pw in Sage.

or create a new Windows user equivalent to existing Sage user. Blank out passwords in Sage 100 then turn on unified logon.

In user maintenance click the button in the top rigjt that changes user login. And you can change from WES to wschulz. No new user logins required. Just advise users to use that until you're ready to flip the switch. We rarely update or remove the password. It's ignore after you enable unified login

Never used or knew that rename was an option - thanks!

@RobertWhite It may have changed in more current versions, but there has been an issue needing to delete passwords when activating unified logon. See this thread: https://90minds-com.socialcast.com/messages/19197720

@DougHiggs, thank you. I'll keep that in mind

Sage password is still used for ODBC (Excel queries... Providex data) with integrated login.

This strikes me as not too secure

I think you'll need a network login too, then right? There are a few things I never seem to anticipate that it makes painful.

Yes, but with access to this folder I could shut down unified login and login with another user account and/or administrator (presuming I had the password which isn't usually tough to get)

Security for SAGE has never been its high suit.,
