CC swipe readers with Sage - Client has been using CC swipe reader with Sage CC processing for many years. I found them a reader (after a very long search, thanks for ALL of your help Sage) that worked great. One day it stopped working. Instead of telling me, their IT guy went out and purchased a Magtek swipe, part # 21040104, which is NOT working with Sage. I have tried all the various devices available (see below) but none of them work. And of course, the IT ""guru"" tossed the old reader (which probably was just fine). Does anyone know the secret to getting this device to work? Does anyone know a knowledgeable person at Sage to contact? Thanks in advance.

The Magtek he purchased may have an emulation mode compatible with one of the devices on the Sage list.

In addition, there are settings in the card reader itself that you may need to change. Last time I had this issue I reached out to tech support for the card reader, not Sage and had great results.

Did some more searching on the Sage KB and the article said to use the magensa setting. Of course it specified a certainreader. One of the downsides of remote support. Sometimes it is like the blind leading the blind.
