Apologies in advance ( yes, I did try to search this first ) as I know that the topic of catch weight comes up a few times a year. I had a user of GP contact me looking for such an enhancement that might integrate with Sage 100.

This company already has a homegrown system ( invoicing, inventory, etc ) that incorporates catch weight. It also integrates to GP. They are off maintenance and trying to decide whether to upgrade GP or go with something new.

I prefer something pre-written vs creating scripts or UDF to generate the functionality.

Also, if you know of anything that's very strong/popular with catch weight and integrates to another ERP the I'd love to know about it so I can pass that info along.

@Wayne Schulz - Whenever I hear the phrase "catch weight", the prospect is always in the food distribution business. We have two prospects looking over the Nexvue product for food distribution.

If you can wait, catch weight is on Linda Cade's road map for v2025!!!!  Just around the corner in Sage years.

Sharon Wong (retired reseller in Hawaii) used a MAS 90 enhancement for catch weight.  As i recall, developer was in CA but I can't find my notes on the product.  Highly doubt he is has the product current but you never know.  Hightower had an enhancement that accommodated catch weight as well.

Might be best to weight on Linda.......

    Thanks.
This was someone who emailed me via my website. I told them I'd inquire but did not think there was anything widely used.
I'll pass along this info but likely skip the 2025 possible addition of catch weight...

@Wayne Schulz We wrote a catch weight modification for one of our customers.  They are a food distributor, and they deliver food products to local restaurants.  It is not widely used, and it was written specifically for our customer.  If you'd like, I can dig up the user manual and send it to you for you to review.  Let me know.

Thanks, I spent 90 minutes with this user trying to provide some advice. Ultimately I think they are too small and looking for something price-wise similar to what they paid 15 years ago when they first purchased Great Plains.

They've homebrewed a catch weight system that they feed GL entries to GP.

@Randy Marion had written a catch weight solution when he was part of Ranier Software.  Randy, you still out there?

I believe ACS had a catch weight enhancement but I am not sure what happened to it after they were acquired by Scanco.  Maybe Cody Smith or someone else there has some information that might help.
