Apparently by-design (kb below), neither A/R or S/O Cash Sale Invoices for an on-file Cust post to the Cust Invoices screen - but they do show in invoice history.  Might anyone know why that is?

    Resolution

    <content>
    • CASH has been designed to record cash payments for each division and overrides the settings for manually added accounts
    • A default customer number of CASH has been defined for each division (or 00-CASH if not using divisions). It is used for cash sale invoices or to post a miscellaneous cash receipt for temporary or one-time customers.
    • To use the account, type the division number and CASH in the Customer Number field (example: 01-CASH). If divisions are not being used, enter CASH. To print the customer name on the invoice/cash receipt, enter it in the Customer Name field.

    To enter a Cash Invoice:

    1. Open Accounts Receivable, Main, Invoice Data Entry, and enter the invoice number followed by -CA
    2. Enter the customer number. If this is a one-time customer, type CASH (if using division, example: 01-CASH). To print the customer name on the invoice, fill in the Customer Name field.
Note: An existing customer number can also be used on a Cash Invoice, however, the customer's balance is not affected. The Cash Sales account is used instead of the Accounts Receivable account.
    3. Confirm the Tax Schedule and Salesperson Code are selected, if applicable.
    4. Select the Lines tab and select the appropriate sales codes and charges.
    5. Click the Quick Print button to produce an invoice to provide the customer with a paid receipt.
    6. When the invoice is updated, a Cash account will be debited instead of an Accounts Receivable account.

Note: Cash Invoices only update the Invoice History Header (AR_InvoiceHistoryHeader), Invoice History Detail (AR_InvoiceHistoryDetail), Salesperson Commission Detail (AR_SalespersonCommission), and Cash Sales Transaction (AR_CashSales) files.

To enter a miscellaneous Cash Receipt:

    1. Open Accounts Receivable, Main, Cash Receipts Entry and select or create a batch if batch processing is enabled.
    2. Select Deposit Type of Cash.
    3. Select the bank code and deposit date.
    4. Select a deposit or click the # icon to create a new deposit.
    5. Enter or confirm the deposit amount.
    6. Select OK
    7. In the Customer Number field, type CASH. If using multiple divisions, type XX-CASH (where "XX" represents the division).
    8. Enter a comment or description as desired and a check number.
    9. Enter the amount received.
    10. Select the Lines tab, enter the GL Account to post as the offset to the cash received.
    11. Enter the amount posted.
    12. Click OK.
