What kind of daily volume do they have? Only one lane? Is everything a cash sale or do they use the register for cash sales and all "on account" transaction are processed through out the day in Sage?
I have a client using Sage since 2004. Michelin tire store. Two Sage 100 workstation on the counter. Work to be performed (new tires, oil change, tire alignment, etc) is entered via SO. SO is printed (work ticket), placed in hanging plastic envelope, hung on the review mirror of car. Work performed by technician, work ticket documented, returned to counter. Sage 100 SO is updated. Customer comes back for car. invoice generated. Customer pays via cash/check, credit card or has terms.
End of day process (before updating) 1) Count the cash/till for deposit, 2) balance cash/till count to custom report recap. Update Sage, take money to bank.
Has worked for nearly 17 years. They do not have a cash register no POS terminal.
I have another client running retail store selling automotive parts (two store locations) running basically same way for three plus years. No issues either.
