Cash Receipts not posting

    Client is on 2019.1 or 2019.2 - I think .2
    Multi company and this is only happening on one company

    Cash Receipts have stopped writing to the AR_TransactionPaymentHistory file AND updating balance in AR_OpenInvoice.
    The posting updates with no errors.  It posts to Bank Rec and it posts to GL.  The data entry files clear.  BUT the dang invoices still show as open and you see no lines of activity.  There is NO payment record being written.

    I've rebuilt ALL AR files and rebuilt the sort files.  The AR_AlternateInvoice file had issues, and I was sure that was the problem, but it now rebuilds as good but the postings are still not updating those 2 files.  Multiple customers, multiple invoices.

    Help!!!!!!

    Only thing that I can think of is run ARWAR4.  I've seen bizarre results until that is run.

    If you copy to a test company, does it happen in the test company?  if not, copy it back to the live?​

    OK, so here's the scoop.  The client is using APS ClickToPay, and during a Cash Receipt, ClickToPay has to go out and update the information held out in the cloud if you pay a ClickToPay invoice in-house (so the customer will see their correct balances).  The user had an issue with the web address that APS was using.  I only narrowed it down to APS after copying the company to another company (the deposit worked fine there), then copying back - but the only way I could copy back was to rename the old folder and then copy back to a new folder.  Once I did that, the folder was so squeaky clean that when APS wrote an error log into the folder, it really stood out.  I had blown them off as Upgrade logs previously.

    So if APS has an issue - it stops the update to the transaction history file BUT lets the rest of the update happen.  Definitely something to watch for.

    So... APS is blocking Sage transaction data when the CR update process is posting but can't communicate with the payment portal?!?

    Nope.  We download everything and create the transactions in cash receipts with our data added to the existing records.  We don't change the existing transaction update, we don't need to.  We do communicate back to the portal to mark the invoice as paid, but if we have any issue we include it in the error logs for both Sage and the journal - but it does not prevent the update to the transaction detail.

    1 - This is NOT bringing in payments from the portal.  This is entering a payment in Cash Receipts manually in Sage 100, for a client setup as ClickToPay.
    2 - And yes, this error most certainly DID keep Sage from updating the transaction history file but allowed the update to appear to have happened normally.

    So... if the website goes down (or a customer's internet goes down during CR posting) the data won't be complete?  That is not good.

    Which is why I've asked Beth privately to send us the info so we can replicate this and kill it.  It should never do this, and in our testing we did not have this issue, so we very much want to find out what we missed.

    Yes, I trust ASI / APS will do what is necessary to fix it.  I was not implying otherwise... we've had consistently good experiences with ASI / APS.

    When there is a program fix, please let us know so we can deploy it.  I know we have at least one customer with Click-To-Pay enabled, and preventing issues before they happen is always best.

    I just had a customer experience this. They are on 2018 with APS Click2Pay. 
    It also had happened back in December 2020.

    The symptoms are the AR Cash Receipts posts to GL, posts to most transaction files in AR except it doesn't impact the AR Open Invoice file.

    The explanation from Beth appears to match exactly. It must be sporadic because these folks have used APS Click2Pay for probably 3 years.

    Presumably the fix is to turn off GL integration in AR then post another cash receipt, update, turn the GL integration back on.
    This results in double cash receipts but I'm not sure if there's a better correction.
