Cannot get a v. 5.0 workstation setup to install. Receive ""Error 1606 Could not access network location"" during workstation setup install. I already applied the Microsoft fix: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/886549, but am still getting the error. I even manually deleted a Key for Outlook 97 in the registry. Any ideas?

Assuming 'Standard' version, you should be logged on as a local administrator with User Account Control disabled and any antivirus software disabled and running this from a mapped drive, NEVER from a UNC path.

I already was running the wksetup as admin, AV was shut off, and UAC was shut off, and was installing from a mapped drive.

I've been reading recently to run wksetup from the autorun instead of the file. I'm wondering if running it from the CD would make any difference.

OK, I will try that Ron, thanks.

with version 5 (Sage ERP 2013) always run the 'autorun.exe' from the ..\mas90\wksetup folder (right click and run as administrator if not XP) as it will install up to 4 pre-requisite programs, depending on your windows operating system version.

That's what I did was right-click on the actual file and run as admin. I'll tell you though, this client has had more crappy network issues and restrictions ... and I'm pretty sure this is going to end up being another one of them.

I bet so - sounds like you are doing everything right here. I've also seen malware cause issues with workstaiton setup.

Hey, see if they have redirected their local Pictures folder onto a network drive. I've run into that in the Crystal install part - Crystal does not like not being able to find the Pictures folder all local-ish.

What was the resolution to this issue?
