I open the path in Windows Explorer, then copy / paste into the Paperless screen. No typos that way. :-)

Happened to me in November. I kept entering the path that I KNEW was the correct path. IT had set up the folders for me to mimic the older installation (migrating to a new server). Got their IT staff on a zoom call to illustrate what was happening. Turned out the Identical (except server name) was not quite identical. Pie in my face...... Verify the path you are using!!!!

Jane I've run into this. It's validating the path from the server with the account running the Sage App Server. If you have to prove it to IT, login to the server's desktop using the service account and try to browse in File Explorer using same UNC path. You'll get prompted for credentials or get some kind of permissions error.
