Can you take a look and see if this form seems to answer questions that people might have and collects the right data. http://goo.gl/Ux3NH

Any way we can make the fees simpler? I'm just wondering how we will police the number of people at a firm? Also, what do we do for firms like Schulz Consulting which is a member of DSD? Do you fall under their umbrella? Finally ... I don't get the NAMED USER thingy. I think the wording is wrong for the firms greater than 10. The initial fee includes three users and ten users respectively, correct? If not, I'm not understanding why it says ""THREE NAMED USERS"" and ""TEN NAMED USERS"".

As another caveat, do you think we might need to add that Sage may force us to shut the group down and what might happen? Do we want to ask for Sage Acct number? Do we need it? Otherwise, I think it looks good.

Why would we need a Sage acct number? This is a group of business partners collaborating - we aren't selling software under 90 Minds or trying to get tier margins, right? And why would Sage force us to shut the group down? That would make no sense for them.

The reason that I put in the named users is I know at least one person will ask if they can get logins for every user in their company even though only one would be online at a time. Our contract with Socialcast is for named users not concurrent users. So we have to make the license be for named users on the partner side as well. I've not yet figured out the existing 90 Minds folks yet. We probably just need to pick a fee structure and include so many socialcast licenses. I think it is simplest and makes participants put some skin in the game if we charge each office a separate fee. Otherwise we may run into a DSD say - ""sure issue licenses for all our partners"" then nobody shows up and we're paying $ per year for unused licenses.

So ... the NAMED USERS is a max / cap for each company? Under 10 is capped at 1 NAMED USER in Socialcast?

I want to provide some incentive for people to make an initial decision and to add some people into the group right away. The easiest way to do that is to offer a reduced price for initial people who join by a certain date. I know it's confusing. I have concerns that most VARS are not really going to do anything until they're about to hit a brick wall then they'll want to join with a credit card and we really don't have that administrative structure to properly manage that -- nor imho should those people be paying the same fee as people who plan ahead and join early. Just my .02

You never know what Sage will do. I was thinking Sage Acct number to verify their status with Sage.

Sage never knows what Sage is going to do!!!!!!!! While I can see where Robert is going with the account number, do we have any way of verifying its validity? Asking for it may make the person THINK we have a way of ensuring that they are in good standing with Sage. Providing the account number may be construed as providing your SSN. Is there a dark side to providing this information? I am not sure I would be comfortable in providing this information. Just thinking out loud.

@PeterWolf I see what you're saying. It made sense when I read it last night. I think it's supposed to be minimum x named users. Am I wrong?

  • 12.  RE: Can you take a look and see if this form seems to

    Posted 09-20-2011 08:02
The intent is to provide a maximum # of named users so that someone doesn't join thinking we're going to allocate a license for every member of their company and then claim they're surprised that they have to pay on a named basis. It's terminology I think everyone in this business should understand so it seemed like a quick way to get the point across. If it's still confusing I can amend.

Why not just let people purchase as many licenses as they want for their company @ $50 or whatever the price needs to be to cover the SC license?

That's one option - and they can do that after they pay an enrollment fee which includes a certain number of named licenses. We've done a lot of work to get this group to a place where it adds a lot of value to an active consulting firm and I have a problem just opening it up basically for cost.

Yeah - I'm not suggesting that at all. Let's do a hangout tonight and put a cap on this stuff. Who can make it?

WTF - I click on the link, add my picture and start wondering how in the heck is my daughter's circle of friends all of a sudden appear. It appears that when I clicked on the link e-mailed, it opened up my wife's google + account or at least it thinks it is my wife. I don't see any way to back out and create my own account. Thoughts???

OK, so I reboot my laptop and then click on the connection and I now have my own connection. So the next big question is what do I do next. I don't Facebook so this is all new to me. If fact, it looks a LOT like Socialcast...............
