  • 1.  Can you import UDF's into CM_UDF?

    I tried using the trick of modifying the data dictionary, but the fields are all already set to 0 to allow for import. It exports fine from VI, but when I make a VI job to import, that table doesn't show up.  Trying to re-create a bunch of 2015 JC UDF's in 2018 JC.  Am I about the hundredth person to ask? I couldn't find anything on importing UDF's - the field definitions, themselves.

    There is a lot more going on then just that file. .  Can you use the custom office import M4x file and import from another system?

    Well, I was thinking of that, but since it's old JC to new JC, I'd need to change table names in the file. I was hoping you import in there then run the update. *Wishful thinking*

    Whoa hold up a second! Maybe I'm missing something but 3 of the 4 types of J/C legacy UDFs (2017 and prior) should get mapped and added to existing Framework tables during the J/C Conversion when you click Convert from Company Maintenance. Did that not happen?

    • JC_90 (JCH) UDFs get mapped and added as UDFs to either JC_Job (JC1) or JC_JobHistory (JC_H1).
    • JC_91 (JCD) UDFs get mapped / added to JC_JobCostCode.
    • JC_92 (JCE) UDFs get mapped / added to JC_JobEstimate
    • JC_93 UDFs are just dropped

    You know, I think we thought the JC-90's weren't coming over and they were!  that's what i get for not checking myself!
