General Consultant Discussion

Can someone tell me the difference between the Home stream and the Company stream. I can't seem to get all the post in one place.

Company Stream includes all non private groups (anything with a *) and I think messages that folks post without selecting a group. Home Stream is all groups and users that you follow.

I tend to see more in the Home Stream. Like this message? Doesn't appear in the Company Stream for me.

This one will show up in the Company Stream now. :)

Thanks @RobertWood and @ThereseLogeais but still confused. Jeff's manufacturing post only shows up in company and not in home and you know I follow him! By the way great picture Robert!

Ok @JeffSchwenk when you did your post for the SPS and the one for Manufacturing did you post from the group or did you do the short cut? If you say one and one then that might be why one shows in home and both show in company.

I still haven't figured it out yet even AFTER Robert has explained it to me a gazillion times.............. I thought the company stream was everyone you followed (except the private groups) and the home stream were ones that you had POSTED a comment to. So confusing!!!!!!! Perhaps we should find something better... To answer your question @DianeRuth , when I create a post, out of habit, I open up the group that I am posting to, then from there I create the post. When I did the posts announcing OASIS dues and the one regarding the Winter meeting in San Diego, I posted to the general discussion group but started with @Businessofconsulting (and other groups) on the first line and that posted to all groups that I wanted to hit. Clear as mud?

Well that clears up everything!!!!!!!! Ever since they upgrade SC I don't get half the post and or email I use to. Thanks anyway @JeffSchwenk

@DianeRuth that thread should appear in your Home Stream, because you're in that group. If you weren't in that group, it wouldn't be in your Home Stream but would be in the Company Stream because it's an open group. If @JeffSChwenk hadn't added it to a group, you would see it in Home and Company. @JeffSchwenk The other way! Turn around!

Ok @RobertWood I understand that, but the two post Jeff did were in the same group! One shows and one doesn't .. Nothing is consistent and that is why I asked.

Interesting! I see both in the Company Stream and the Home Stream. I'll look into it more later.

That's odd. My Home and Company streams look identical.
