Can someone please tell me what the comment field in the lines of Cash Receipts Entry is for?? It updates the AR_CashReceiptsHistory file but it does not appear ANYWHERE - no reports, no inquiries - why is it there??

Sage seems to like doing things like this. Remember how the comment field in inventory transaction entry went nowhere.

But didn't the IM transaction comment print on the register? This comment doesn't even do that.

Maybe they expect us to source a UDF off of it and carry it forward form there. FWIW, CRDetail, CRHistory and CRJournalWrk have a comment field but haven't tested if they are populated. Guess it's UDFs from there.

But I can't access it for any AR udf's. I thought about adding it to the transaction update but that is only from AR Sales Journal. The customer needs to enter comments for prepayments such as project info, etc. Any other ideas?

There's a comment field in cash receipts entry on each distribution line. It's supposed to flow through to the GL.

It does not flow through, i've tested it.

It doesn't appear on the cash receipts register or the cash receipts history report.

I belive I got it to work as a proof of concept for a client only to discover that the client didn't have custom office. I'll try to dig up what I did.

I created a UDF in the AR Cash receipts work file linking it to the comment field in the AR cash receipts history file. See attached. While there, I also added a UDF for the invoice date so we can generate a days to pay field.
