Can form codes STANDARD be deleted (safely)?

They will come right back after deleting (back door deleting)

Is there an easier way to rename these - short of saving the existing form, make a new form code, swap in the previous form then delete the old code. It's too bad that Sage doesn't have a way to prohibit creating new form codes. Just about every active company that I visit has at least 3 or 4 ""ghost"" form codes created when someone mistakenly keyed into the form code field during heads-down data entry.

No. They want to remove STANDARD and rename 4 others.

Are you trying to make STANDARD the only form code they have?

Ah. Well, then, no, not much better options available. I had a client who wanted STANDARD gone, too, but right after I backdoor deleted it, we went back into SO Printing, clicked on the lookup, and there was STANDARD. Kind of like some creepy Chucky doll.

I am sure everyone does this but thought it would be worth the insert here. I use a form other than Standard as I understand the settings such as full comment default back. Is this still true? I also set the default form in bank code maintenance because I always get that misaligned form issue in check printing after someone gets a new workstation.

Still true. I never use STANDARD, and BLESS that setting in Bank Code Maintenance!

Customer wanted to remove DEFAULT code and change the names on two forms ( form1, form2) Made backup of all the reports 1. Went to Library Master - Setup - Report Manager 2. Deleted DEFAULT 3. Went to SO Pick Sheet - created new form codes UN-ALLOCATED, AUTO-ALLOCATED 4. Went back to Report Manager and copied forms (form1, form2) to new code created above 5. Deleted the old copies Note: The new forms don't initially show up in the Report Manager except as being able to ""copy to"" Note: During copy to - the new forms were created for ALL COMPANIES and as such, they are stored in MAS_SYSTEM\Reports\SO_PickingSheet\

We have some codes (other than STANDARD) that seem to be coming back to life despite having been deleted through Report Manager. I am thinking that if a user was last in a form code which I removed that perhaps the system prompts them with ""Form xxx does not exist"" and they answer ""yes"" to ""do you want to create"".

I'm also not sure that the Sage Report Manager copy function actually works as intended. I tried to create new form codes then copy the code from an existing form and from what I can see it may have only copied from Standard. Usually I completely manually copy these and I think in the future except for deletions I will manually copy the forms instead of trying to use the Report Manager functionality.

I find Report Manager so clunky that I usually avoid it and manually copy the .rpts.
