BZ transaction types being created on items (with 0 qty and cost that eventually screws up costing of items) after updating BOM production entries There is qty on hand sufficient to fulfill the production entry, so this shouldn't be happening. MAS 200 4.4 PU4. Items are all Average cost. Has anyone run into this? Can't duplicate on my system but can on client's - but it seems to be sporadic.

BZ transactions are negative quantity adjustments. Were there negative quantities on hand prior to the production entries?

Does this happen on an item consistently? Also I see they aren't on the most recent product update. There were some fixes for inventory in later releases, weren't there?

Thanks for the feedback - I checked for updates to BOM in PU 5-7, but not Inventory. I'll take a look. There is sufficient qty on hand to satisfy the production entry when these BZ's are created, that's what doesn't make sense. It doesn't drive the inventory negative so no BZ transaction is necessary. I'm wondering if there is something corrupt on specific items, will need to do more testing to see if it's only a few, but my understanding is that it has been pretty widespread.

These are the components, not the PRODUCED item?

Beth - that's correct. Some of the components are also bills, but also with sufficient qty on hand. We have seen the BZ transaction created for both standard/non-bill component items and component/Bill items.

You should get up to PU10 if possible. You might not see all the fixes in the release notes and I am sure there were problems that might have been resolved since PU4.

good idea - I think I'll get a copy of their data on my 4.4 PU10 install and see if I can duplicate. They have a few customizations that always make installing product updates a little tricky, so I think I'll test on my system first.

FYI - update to this post. After installing PU10 on my own machine and still getting these bad BZ transactions with the customer data, I ran all of these average cost utilities (attached file) - and was not able to create any more BZ transactions. Now I just have to install PU10 and repeat on the client's server...
