  • 1.  Burden in Job Cost

    Good Morning! 
    I have a client that migrated from 2017 Advanced to 2019 Premium in late July. Ever since then, burden looks like it is calculating correctly when reviewing the Burden Allocation Register (coming through Time Track)  but then once the entries are posted they don't appear correctly on the Job Transaction Detail Report. In 2017 the burden hours always equal the labor hours which made sense because that is how burden is calculated but in 2019 they are very different for some jobs.  I can't find any logic to why some jobs work and others don't. It does seem to be that if there are more than one employee working the job for the pay period that burden will definitely be wrong but I have seen some with just one employee and incorrect burden. Has anyone seen anything like this? I've reported to Sage and have a scheduled call back tomorrow but this is driving me nuts. Thank you!

    I did additional research on this and found a pattern to the weirdness. Example - if there are three jobs each with 10 Time Track lines, the first job is getting 25 of the time track lines (summary) and the second job will get 2 lines and then third job will get 3 lines. The numbers aren't exact but in every posting the first job gets a ton of burden it shouldn't have and the other jobs are all shorted. I documented it all and delivered to Sage but I'm not excited about waiting for a fix while the client fixes hundreds of lines each time they post Time Track. Does anyone have a 2019 (premium) installation that is correctly calculating and posting burden? I'm curious if my client just has a weird install and I could reinstall or patch and fix it. Thanks!

    It turns out this is an issue specific to Time Track, Job Cost and the Premium Platform. If the same cost code is used multiple times in the Time Track entry,  Sage is respecting the first entry and then taking all the other amounts for the same cost code and combining them together with all the other cost code amounts and then posting that total to the very first job/cost code combination on the report. Super strange and specific but Sage support was able to duplicate it. Fix pending!
