Browsing the web and LinkedIn I see that BizNet seems to be winning the mindshare of most VARS. I've seen several online webinars - and have yet to see much for SMI.

We just ran a series of user groups focused on Biznet, about 50 people in all. Did the same with SMI last fall. Users clearly liked Biznet way better than SMI - saw a much shorter learning curve.

Have a client going the SMI route over Biznet. I gave the pros and cons even gave Mark C's link to youtube, but they went with SMI as it was ""included"" in MASl whereas Biznet had a significant cost to them. Even if they find out that SMI doens't fit or work, I think I'm protected as I've informed them of both options.

Do you have to train/implement SMI @MyronStevenson or will they self train?

They'll probably look to us for some help. Need to learn it. I will miss FRx.

Where does this all end. Are we expected to hire experts in three reporting solutions, three paperless solutions and four EDI providers? Or perhaps as I suspect does our role shift to one of more pure consulting where it becomes commonly accepted that these roles are usually subcontracted. Personally I'm not a fan of integrating all the moving pieces. It leaves too much room for error and in my experience if one piece goes to heck then I'm usually left holding the bag explaining to the client... And, @MyronStevenson I find that what you went through with SMI works well for the first generation. As soon as that CFO or Accountant leaves or is fired the new regime will come in and question you about ""why you insisted in the company using SMI"" ... I've had similar (though not with SMI) happen to me over and over. It starts to become like a bad movie with clients turning over employees and the new ones (who tend not to last long either ) coming in and trying to stir everything up.

Excellent point Wayne about regime changes. They also bring their own consultants in.
