Sage 100 2018 Advanced, Component Requirement Report generates an error for some large bills:  error 41 BM_COMPONENTREQRMNTRERPORT_RPT.PVC line 637.  In looking at the work file for 2 different bills, the common thread on the last record is Level = 97, LIneKey = 000001.

I have rebuilt keys and sorts for Bill of Materials  no issues reported and no change in the behavior.  It runs for about 2 hours before crashing.
Clicking on Info button produces this lovely mess (see attachment).

    Any ideas?

    Phil,

It almost seems like it might be in an infinite loop. Could one of the subassembly bills be referencing the parent or a higher level bill?

Check the setting in BM Options for "maximum number of levels"? if it is at 99 maybe try reducing it to 10 just to see if that changes the behavior at all.

Also it looks like there is a third party add-on – the selection grid in your screen shot doesn't look like the standard Component Requirement report. Maybe check with the developer?

@David Overholt - good idea - I will check on that.  They do have Scanco multi-bin...

I'm not sure if it is important, but your screen shot of the component requirement report looks like more than just multi-bin the column titled "Production No" is intriguing to me.

Standard B/M does NOT have the Production No on the selection screen.

Phil - I've run into this with the Indented Bill report. When the Max Number of Bills was 10 it would only explode the 1st level. When I set it to 20 it would give me a hard error. The problem was exactly what @David Overholt said in that some of the components were parent bills and this circular processing resulted in an infinite / endless loop. It turns out they did this on purpose where the parent was added as a component with a Qty/Assembly = 0 as a way of listing a drawing x-ref in the sub-assembly. I suggested a comment line or misc item as an alternative but they didn't go for that. They were also moving to another ERP system and really just wanted to export the data for import into the new system. I ended up modifying the programming to not explode a sub-assembly if Qty/Assembly = 0 and a few other conditions.
