  • 1.  Blank Forms and Custom Reports

    Posted 11-19-2025 14:20

I've run into an issue with two different clients recently and wanted to get everyone thoughts. For some reason, all forms (SO Form, SO Invoice, and PO Form) are printing blank-the only thing that appears are the titles, with no data. I've tried creating new forms, but the result is the same.

I've also noticed that custom reports are showing blank.

    • One client is on 2022 Advanced, the other on 2025 Standard.
    • Neither has ODBC Security enabled, and Client Server ODBC is not turned on.
    • I checked SY_User, SY_UserHistory, SY_Security, etc., and there are no blank records. (Based on previously KB and MOTM articles)
    • I tried creating a new user, but the issue persists.
    • On the Advanced install, this only happens on the server-workstations print correctly.

    ·        I do have full control rights to the folders above MAS90 and below.

At this point, I'm not sure what has changed, and I'm stuck on what could be causing this. Any ideas or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Michael

If Excel queries come out blank too, I'd suspect that ODBC permissions are somehow active... (where turning it on, adding full permissions, then disabling it again might help).

    Blank /null record in sy_user ?

No blank or null records in the SY_User or SY_UserHistory tables.

I have toggled on/off ODBC security but no change.

Also one is 32 bit and the other is 64 bit.

Other oddity, if I write a new Crystal reports or import data into Access, I can see rows indicating data. However none of them are visible.

Toggling on/off ODBC security is not what I suggested.  The important part is adding the full ODBC permissions, to ensure a stealth enabling of ODBC security will still return data.

On my standard version, I currently have ODBC security on. In the role assign to my user, I have all tables/ fields selected.

Was there another ODBC permission that I may be missing?

    Thank you

That... plus the Windows / share permissions to the actual files.

    I am working again!

I had an expired role on the user account. When I removed the expiration date on that role for the user and/or deleted the role on the user account, all the data started showing back up again.

The same was true on both installs too.

Not sure why it would have matter. I could maybe see it with ODBC security, but I was getting same results, with ODBC on/off.

    Thank you

OMG, I just had that too, but didn't make the connection to your issue (EVEN THOUGH IT WAS EXACTLY THE SAME - sigh).

Had a user with a mysterious expiration date of THAT DAY and of course no one admitted putting it in there...

When I had this problem, it was because PII permission was not given in Role Maintenance on the Security tab for General, Accounts  Payable or Payroll..
