Blair was President of Group PLC not NA. So on paper it was a high level position. In reality I felt likely they brought him on to long term be a backup to Kelly. When Kelly left it seemed like only a short while before his inner circle exited which is IMO what has been happening.
Lots of signals seemed to support this - not the least of which was Kelly almost forgetting to introduce Blair ( sitting right next to him) after introducing a half dozen other execs at a press and analyst meeting at the huge Sage Summit where they claimed thousand attended.
