Before I file a bug with Sage, I thought I'd check in with the experts. I have a client who has several thousand inventory items. When they do physical count entry, and run the variance register, it ""moves"" all the data several lines down the physical count entry (see attached picture). I checked the KB, but nothing caught my eye. I watched them do this in physical count entry, so I know it isn't a user messing things up. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance.

Well that's a hole big enough to drive a couple of trucks through.

This might be totally unrelated but I worked with a client on 4.4 that was having an issue entering inventory counts in physical count maintenance. They were having problems because they thought they were entering counts In one item only to find o up that the curser wasn't where they thought it was. We found out that you need to wait until MAS90 completely fills in the entry list before you start to enter data. While mas is completing the list tng of items the it's diffi cult to determine where the curser is.

@RonGouveiaCPACITP That sounds plausible. It does take quite a while to populate the list. We'll do some testing on that. Thanks!

With ""several thousand inventory items"" and the clunky data entry interface, you should have them consider keying the items into Excel and then upload the file via Visual Integrator (hopefully they have it). Keying into Excel is a lot faster and easier. This is the way I have all of my clients (that have VI) key their inventory.

I had an instance like this and it was created by corrupt records in IM2 and IM3 where there was a cost record without item data or a warehouse record without an item.

Thanks to all who responded. @RonGouveiaCPACITP is the winner. We'll probably use @JeffSchwenk's suggestion in the future.
