*beating head against the wall* - dealing with 2 clients today re moving to 100C and BOTH are under the impression it's cloud-based. Now why on earth would they think that? Because of that *expletive deleted* ""C""? Because one client said a salesperson at Sage TOLD them it was cloud-based? Or maybe because of this (see image)?

Anyone have a current document of detailed differences between 100 and 100c? The first question that any customer asks when you present the 100 vs 100c renewals i ""what is different about 100c"" or ""what do I get with 100c for my extra money"". It would be very handy to have such a document to share with the end user.

There have been a number of enhancements released or due that will be for 100c only as reviewed in the Sage 100 Partner Advisory Council meetings, so there will soon be a clear differentiation. It was also definitively stated in the BPAC meeting that Sage wants all current customers on the C line versions. They stop short of forcing 100 customers to upgrade due to Stephen Kelly's proclamation about no forced migrations, but I am guessing the relative annual increases in maintenance/subscriptions plus the new enhancements only for C will make the decision obvious for customers. I was surprised to find out that the percentage of customers who have already migrated was less than 60%, so Sage has some convincing to do. Of our customers current on maintenance, we only have 6 remaining on 100. I need to document the new enhancements for those hold outs, so I can share that when I complete it.

Sadly I feel you are correct and the only way Sage will incent remaining people to move from 100 to 100c is to increase the price of 100 maintenance so it is > the quoted 100c price. So far the end users I've moved: - 100c < 100 maintenance - Took advantage of platform change - Downsizing business and 100c became cheaper - Reinstatement on 100c was cheaper than 100 I've moved very few 10+ user wholesale distribution users and suspect this is going to be hardest to move until Sage can increase the 100 maintenance for them so it's higher than 100c. In my experience users only care about the ""bolt on"" freebies if they have already been actively looking at them and the functionality is clear (ie - it's not disguised trialware that requires an upgrade $$).

The mistake Sage made was not automatically making 100 licenses 100c with no change in annual cost. Intuit did this, and I doubt there were many complaints. I also consider Stephen Kelly's proclamation to be unwise. There is very little revenue for Sage or the channel even now for BusinessWorks. If Sage said that BW was being phased out as of 6/30/2018 and offered optional migration paths, those customers would either go to QuickBooks or agree to one of the options. Why prolong this?

Sage should further simplify the 100c pricing and bundle the remaining straggler modules (not in a bundle) into one or all of the three levels of 100c. - Job Cost and Timecard should be in all three bundles. - WO, MRP in the Complete Bundle. IMO, Sage could proclaim that as of mm/dd/yyyy all 100 users will be 100c at the same maintenance and be done with it. I think the reason they haven't - 25% - internal systems can't manage - 25% - cultural over-reliance on spreadsheet computation of ""keeping changes revenue neutral or in Sage's advantage"" - 25% - lack of a lead to take this and convince UK - 25% - existing staff not fully understanding the market (past/present) coupled with lack of recent in-the-field experience

Sage should also standardize subscription terms, such as those that are only monthly - SI bundle, SIA, Alerts, . . . so customers may have all on annual payment contracts. At BPAC we again discussed ""forcing"" all endorsed products to adopt subscriptions to be consistent with 100c. This was the first Scott had been told this based on his reaction.

I have tried for over a year to get a Sage rep to tell me the differences between 100 and 100 c and I get different answers with each one. I did get a call a couple of weeks ago from Sage saying that I still have a few left that have not yet migrated to c and if they do Sage would give it to them at the regular cost of their normal upgrades. Of course one client said, well I may not be paying for it now but I will definitely be paying for it later! True that! So if anyone has a clear list of the differences, I would appreciate that too! I also think they need to quit the multi billings and get the core and payroll all on one invoice again! That has caused a lot of confusion! Today I get an email from a client that said, ""I ended up upgrading and bought the c, did I do the right thing?"" Sad...

Included with our cover letter and renewal invoice, we send a 100c Quote and Payment Authorization form with every renewal and request a call back to discuss the pros/cons. Since Sage includes the 100c option on their renewal invoice, and since 100c will eventually replace 100, the education process can begin. We've moved 30% to 100c.

Sage 2018 gives a start on the features of Sage 100c: - DSD/ Scanforce Multi-Bin - Sage 100c Manufacturing (not sure how this is a benefit but I think you can only buy it on 100c) - Sage Inventory Advisor Basics - AP Automation - Mobile Sales for Bar Code Not listed in-app - Sage Intelligence (possibly because it relies on support level as well)
