I know @Wayne Schulz has been a long time fan of this solution, any other thoughts about using it as a project management solution versus 'free' tools like Teams etc?

Correct. I've been using Basecamp on and off for probably 5 years.
I find that it's great as an affordable solution where you don't have to worry about the typical $39 per user per month that you find many tools like this try to subscribe you to.

I also tried Asana which I really liked for the UI but with Asana it always felt like once I completed a task that the history was harder to locate. Asana also is very $$ because it prices based on a per user.

I have had marginal to poor results trying to interest any customers in joining these groups so I just use it internally.

My projects tend to be larger.  About 10 people on the client side and 3-5 on ours.  I've tried using teams but it has no decent task management, and very poor sharing outside the organization.

This just seems purpose built for exactly what we do and need and very affordable.

We actually use Zoho Projects internally. Its great and works wonderful with External (client) users. Pricing is reasonable.

Be careful with Teams and Asana - both advertise that they allow for free guest access but reading into the fine print uncovers limitations on how many free accounts can join your group. From what I recall both allow x number of guests per paid user.

The hardest thing is to break people away from email chains which is faster and which 99.9% of people will fall back on and then you're left managing in two places.

I see that problem a ton with Teams.  People love the chat/video of it, kinda like the document sharing, but we can't get traction on the conversations.  Apparently @Peter Wolf has figured out to solve this problem.

It's a mixed bag like most endeavors. Some customers love it and others don't show up except rarely.

The only "trick" we employ is that we continue to drive them to Teams as a primary portal / hub for materials and resources.

The other key key is to feed the beast with conversation starters on a regular basis. As much as possible without being annoying. It's a fine line.

for us, it's worth it because a) we can better serve the customers with real time conversations and b) we can get better response rates on our "offers" for additional services, events, and packages.
