Bank Code ~ (tilde) issue: Client has exhausted pretty much all possible Bank Codes including ~ (tilde) in addition to a whole bunch of other symbols they've already used (e.g., | { ] ' etc.). What's happening is when running Reports (e.g., A/P Payment History Report) for Bank code equal to ~ no data is returned, but all other Bank Codes / Symbols work fine. And if run the report for All Bank Codes, data is returned. If do Greater Than } it works but it includes } and ~ and because they run the report sorted by Vendor Name, it commingles the data from both those bank codes which is no good for what they need. All other Oper's don't seem to work either. Client is running 4.20.0.20. Same issue on my local 4.5 system. Apparently this worked 6 months ago, so I'm not sure what could have changed. STANDARD report setting does the same thing. I looked at the data in the A/P Trans Pmt Hist file, and data looks fine. Rebuilt A/P Trans Pmt Hist file and A/P Sorts, but no help. Also checked A/P Payment History Work file for any rogue data, but none present. Via Crystal, we're able to select data for just the ~ bank code (A/P Trans Pmt Hist file) so a custom report appears to be an option.

What if you just save a version of the report and hard code the selection to bank code ~? Or suppress sections if not equal to ~?

BTW - DSD demoed/talked about this at MOTM - http://dsdinc.com/enh/by-module/general-ledger/glxb.html -- appears to mostly apply to v4.50+

Brett. DSD has an enhancement called expanded bank codes. It allow for small and capital letter bank codes. Not sure it will solve you current issue but will allow for more bank codes.

Awesome suggestion, @ThereseLogeais. I'll try that. And certainly good to know about the DSD mod.

Brett, tangentially related DSD has...never mind. I would suspect that is a legacy problem from where SOTA was using the ~ as a special character for other things.

If you did use the DSD solution, I think we could find someone whose name rhymes with Alnoor Cassim who could probably help you get the records modified to whatever you wanted the bank code to become.

Would somebody please go buy @ThereseLogeais a drink. Hardcoding that into the Select Expert worked!!! - at least on my 4.5 system with CRW 11. Thank you!!! Now I just have to try it on the client's 4.20 system with CRW 10.
