    I was with my wife at a Sage Summit that I believe was in Las Vegas several years ago.  At the time she was helping me with admin office work part time.  AvidExchange has a demo / marketing session offering a $25 gift card for all attendees.  When we were leaving and they were handing out the gift cards the person asked if this is my wife and I responded "yes".   She said my wife doesn't get a gift card because only one gift card is allowed per family.  Needless to say any further communication from this company has always been ignored.  Terrific marketing tactic.  You just alienated potential business over a $25 gift card.

    …. learned this MANY years ago from my grandfather when he redeemed some offer that said "bring your best friend and get (some random gift)"… I think he got whatever gift they were offering after they tried to disqualify him bringing my grandmother along to get a gift …
