Our AvaTax clients were asking if they would be affected by the information in the communication below and DSD confirmed with Avalara that the Sage integration would not.
As an Avalara AvaTax customer, we wanted to alert you of a change to our AvaTax SSL certificate that will happen on July 13, 2020.
Most customers will not be impacted by this change. However, if you've implemented a custom integration for AvaTax, you may need to take action. No action is needed for customers that have not implemented a custom integration. If you have implemented a custom integration for AvaTax, follow the steps outlined in this
help center article to update your SSL certificate. If you don't think you're the right person at your organization to make this change, we recommend forwarding this alert to your IT team or AvaTax administrator.
Avalara must change its SSL certificate due to certificate expiration. All SSL certificates have time-bound expiration dates as a security best practice. Depending on the configuration of your custom SSL integration, a manual update may be required.
