Have a client who is working towards SST and had a meeting with Avalara but Avalara said they didn't have any Sage specialists that could go over the setup in detail with her re Sage 100.

Does anyone have a good write-up for what all SST entails with Sage 100?  THANK YOU!

SST = Streamlined Sales Tax - essentially a program run by member states/government that streamlines the sales tax charged so that the process is more uniform among member states and there isn't the degree of having to charge for state/county/local which complicates the computation.

It appears from the Avalara site that they would manage the SST membership on their site and that you'd just install the AVATAX connector the same as always.

It's possible I'm misreading something or there is greater complexity to the implementation than I've briefly read about.

This has to do with having to use the special tax classifications (especially for Misc Items) and dealing with NonTax items.  SST cannot process NOT tax codes and you have to map something like the code ONO30000 to your Misc Items.
