    New client.  Has customer tax schedule set to AVATAX.  Lines are set to TX.  
    1 - Totals tab has total of order in Nontaxable field.
    2 - Clicking on the Avatax icon doesn't seem to do anything - normally I see Avatax pop up when getting into the screen, and again if I click the icon.

    So - maybe Avatax isn't working, but if not, shouldn't the amount still go into Taxable?

    A couple of things to check.
    1) Make sure Ship To Address is filled out completely.
    2) Make sure there's no exemption for the custom on Avalara's portal.

    Are you using the latest AVATAX? I had a similar ( but not same ) issue where totals weren't being created in SO History. Avalara sent me an update which fixed that issue.

    I think this may actually be the setup in Avalara - I went to Connections for their account and there were no connections.  Am waiting to hear back from the client, who has ignored my email so far.
