    From a Sage 100 Premium 2018 customer:

    I was just informed that Avalara seems to slow our invoicing process down quite a bit. 15 invoices took 45 minutes to Re-Calc sales tax for Avalara. I am concerned that when we are shipping 150 orders a day this summer that this process could take 7-8 hours for all batches.

    Please let me know your thoughts and advice.



    Is this a thing now? Anything to check or tips to speed up?

    Why are they recalculating sales taxes?? Do they import invoices?

    Yes they have an import where they've had to recalculate the tax because in the past I believe it was erroring out during the import if we also calculated sales tax.

    Understood. I know I had a customer who imported invoices and I don't think it erred out but it took a long time so they always went in and recalculated afterwards.

    Ditto @Therese Logeais  Disable calculation on import, then recalc.  What is happening during import is that each line is calculated by Avatax and updating the portal.  You can literally watch it in the portal by refreshing the page.​
